Using AI to research in Notably helps you do better, faster research. In the Notably platform there are several ways to use AI. This article covers all the basics of our AI features and links out to other articles with more in-depth walkthroughs and examples.

Below are brief overviews of each of the features listed above. You may click on the links to learn more in depth about each feature.

In Notably, raw research data, such as audio or video, is automatically transcribed.

To transcribe your data, upload your audio or video in the "Data" tab and select a language. Once this data has been added, it will be transcribed into an editable transcript. From here, you may generate a summary, or highlight and tag your transcript to be added to your Analysis board.

Once you have added data, you may generate a summary of any file. Whether it is audio, video, transcripts, or documents, there is a template for you!

To do this, select one of our Summary Templates to summarize the high level takeaways.

Generating a summary will use 1 AI credit. The summary may then be highlighted and tagged to be added to your Analysis board.

Sentiment analysis is a powerful tool to use when analyzing your data. Notably uses AI to analyze your data to show positive or negative sentiment. However, we always allow researchers to have the final say, so you always have the option to override the sentiment.

You can run sentiment analysis from the "Analysis" Tab in either the table or from the canvas.

Once your notes have been tagged and/or themed in your "Analysis" Tab, you may select one of our Insight Templates to generate an insight. Insights may be generated on your canvas from individual themes, or tags.

While there's no hard and fast rule around getting started, we find that a theme should have at least 5 notes or ideally about 10.

Generating an insight will use 1 AI Credit. This creates a sharable artifact in which data may be added as evidence and shared out publicly.
