How to create a custom AI Summary or Insight Template
In the 'Templates' section of Notably, click the “+New Template” button in the top right. Give your AI Template a name and description (20 words or less) that will help your teammates understand when to use it.
Do I choose a Summary or Insight template?
Choose from the dropdown on the right whether you want to create a Summary Template or Insight template.
Summary Templates can be run on single data files, such as video, audio, or documents. They are intended to summarize a single data source.
Insight templates are designed to be used on an entire project, tag(s), or themes to synthesize across many different data files.
What's a prompt?
Prompts are how you design your custom AI template. Kind of like source code written in natural language, prompts contain a set of specific questions and instructions to ask of the data. Write your prompt from scratch or click “start from outline” for help getting started.
How to I test my custom AI template?
In order to preview your custom AI template, you have to select some data (if a Summary template) or a project (if an Insight template) to test it on. Below the prompt, choose data or a project from your workspace. Test your prompt on several different sources in order to fine tune the prompt.
Who can see and use my custom AI template?
Custom AI templates are in "draft" mode by default while you work on it. Drafts are visible to anyone in your workspace.
How do I use a custom AI template?
A custom AI template must be published for it to be used outside of the 'Templates' section of Notably. When you’re happy with your AI-powered Summary or Insight template, click “Publish.” It will instantly be available for you and your teammates to use on your research.
